Elisa Mkhize is a qualified Chartered Accountant (SA) by profession. She has a B Com (Accounting) Degree from the University of Pretoria and a B Com Hons (Accounting) from UKZN. She completed her articles with Pricewaterhouse Coopers (PwC) in 2005 and also spent some time in the PwC London office during 2007. She has completed an executive course, “Mastering Strategy”, with GIBS (Gordon Institute of Business Science).
She has over 15 years’ experience in auditing, financial management and reporting across various industries including construction, mining, renewable energy and health, gained through her years working at PwC, at Wilson Bayly Holmes Ovcon (WBHO), Foskor (Pty) Ltd and Clinix Health Group.
She also spent some time as an independent consultant. During her consulting years, she worked on the biggest government-led bid in renewable energy with the Department of Energy, namely the Renewable Energy Independent Power Producer Procurement Programme (REIPPPP), focusing on financial criteria evaluation of the bids submitted.
Elisa is now Chief Finance Officer of Clinix Health Group, a privately-owned hospital group that owns and operates six private hospitals in South Africa. Her role covers looking after the finance, admin and procurement functions. She also serves on the Board of Clinix Health Group as a Director.
